Poway USD Parents Unite
Many of us have spent the past several months appealing to our Poway Unified leaders as individual parents and families. We have been asking our district leaders to keep student interests as their top priority in decision-making and include the parent community in their decision-making process. We have been steadfast in seeking opportunities to collaborate on plans for re-opening our schools.
Our individual voices were repeatedly ignored or dismissed.
So, a group of approximately 50 PUSD parents and community members decided to join efforts. We are hoping that in uniting, we can use our collective voice and engage our school district in true collaboration to focus all district decisions on serving PUSD students and families.
Our most urgent goal is to work with Poway Unified to get all of our schools open and offering full-time, in-person instruction on campus for students in all grades. We look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders in PUSD to establish and support a plan that will truly serve ALL students - those desperate to return to full-time, in-person learning on campus and those wishing to continue with a virtual option. The PUSD Parent Alliance believes that with the right allocation of staffing and resources these two platforms are not mutually exclusive.
