CDC & CDPH guidance updated
On Friday, March 19th, the CDC updated its K-12 school guidance to reflect the latest findings on physical distance between students. The CDC is now recommending students remain only 3 feet apart. The updated spacing guidance applies to all grades in Poway USD because by CDC thresholds, San Diego County is considered to have Low levels of community transmission. The updated guidance also removed the CDC’s recommendation for physical barriers between students. Read the press release here.
On Saturday, March 20th, the CDPH followed suit and updated their Framework & Guidance to align with the CDC’s recommendations. The language of the CDPH guidance around physical spacing now reads “Maintaining a minimum of 3 feet between student chairs is strongly recommended.” Read the CDPH press release here.
Parents, please reach out to your local Poway USD Board of Education Trustee to ask how these updates, combined with last week’s court orders, will accelerate school reopening to offer full-time, in-person instruction, on-campus for students in all grades.
